Join us for the Wimbledon Wine School series of Themed Tastings: your opportunity to get under the skin of some of the many fascinating elements of the wonderful world of wine. These guided tastings are designed for wine enthusiasts who are excited to learn more about grape growing, wine making, terroir and everything else that leads us to what ends up in your glass! There’s no exam or need to attend every class, you can dip in and out for the topics that interest you. No previous knowledge is required, although we are happy to go into some detail for anyone interested.

The ninety minute sessions will comprise of half an hour’s introduction to the subject, before we try tasting samples of six wines – note-taking encouraged. Nibbles will be provided, and class size is limited to allow for lots of questions.

Riesling can be a contradictory grape for those just getting to know it. Aromatic and floral; but also one of the hardiest varieties, allowing it to grow in some of the world’s coolest grape-growing areas. Traditionally sweet (or tending in that direction) but these days increasing found in bone dry versions. Fabulous young, with intense fruit and flower aromas; but with the potential to age and develop into something intriguing with notes of kerosene… There’s nothing quite like it and in this tasting we will guide you through a few styles of wine to make sure you come away knowing which Riesling is the right one for you.
