Ungeheuer Auslese von Buhl 37.5cl

Raise a glass of Von Buhl Riesling and you're in very good company - the estate's wines have been enjoyed by historic figures for 200 years. Bismarck was partial to a drop, and their wine was used to toast the opening of the Suez Canal in 1869. This is one of their finest dessert wines. Made from very late harvested grapes, Riesling Auslese can only be produced in exceptional vintages like 2010, which yielded tiny quantities of fruit, but with superb levels of concentration. The grapes are from Von Buhl's steeply sloping Pfalz vineyards - half of which lie in the 'Grand Cru' Mittelhaardt. Fermented slowly to ensure every nuance of flavour and aroma was captured, Von Buhl Ungeheuer Auslese makes a lovely apéritif or partner to fruit tart.

Vintage: 2017
Grape Varieties: Riesling
