Altos de R Crianza, DOCa Rioja

August suggested an early harvest and a harvest of high quality. The dry summer resulted in exceptionally healthy grapes. Healthy, low-yielding grapes with a great aromatic and phenolic concentration. It is one of the great vintages of Rioja Alavesa alongside 2010 and 2005. After rigorous sorting upon entering the winery, the grapes were destemmed, crushed and cold macerated for four days before undergoing alcoholic fermentation at an average temperature of 25-30ºC. It was macerated for another 12 days and completed malolactic fermentation in stainless-steel. The wine was aged in French and American oak for 12 months with periodic racking every six months. The wine finished its aging with a minimum 6 months in bottles.

Vintage: 2018
Grape Varieties: Tempranillo
