Mellasat Viognier
The 2018 Viognier grapes were picked at optimum ripeness, and the result in wine is barrel fermented and matured for 11 months in 60% second fill and older 300 litre Romanian oak and 40% fourth fill French oak. Malolactic fermentation was not encouraged after the alcoholic fermentation but the lees was stirred (batonnage) by rolling the barrels for up to six months during maturation. The wine was bottled in January 2019 and released in November 2019. Alcohol: 13.3% vol. (Diam cork closure).
